South Western School District’s Mentoring Program description: Your child will meet with a caring adult who will spend roughly one-half hour each week providing support and guidance. All mentoring takes place on school premises, during the school day. Additionally, all mentors have completed all state mandated background checks. If at any time you want to discontinue your child’s participation in the Mentoring Program, please contact your child’s school counselor. If your child’s mentor changes we will notify you. Participation in a mentoring relationship can contribute to your child’s academic success by increasing self-confidence, promoting a positive attitude towards school, encouraging positive choices, providing guidance in setting and meeting goals, increasing social skills and working on other issues which may be affecting their ability to do well in school. Your approval, support and enthusiasm will greatly increase your child’s success in this program. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at (717) 633-4807
Please complete this form and return it you your child's school counselor if you'd like for them to participate in this district program.
