High School Graduation Project
The South Western High School Graduation Project will be the completion of the assigned Lessons from Xello during grades 9-11. Xello is a computerized college and career readiness software that helps students plan their future. Students complete interactive career, personality, and learning style assessments to help them better understand their unique interests, skills and strengths. Each assessment encourages reflection helping students connect who they are with relevant career options. Students in Grade 10 will create a Resume, complete a Job Application, and participate in a Mock Interview.
The lessons in Xello have been designed to meet the Career Education and Work Standards, Chapter 4 of Title 22, part of the PA State Board of Education’s regulations of required education for all students in Pennsylvania.
The Career Education and Work Standards address four areas of knowledge:
- Career Awareness and Preparation
- Career Acquisition (Getting a Job)
- Career Retention and Advancement
- Entrepreneurship
